Maryland apostilles come from the Secretary of State in Annapolis. Notarized documents need certification by the clerk of the circuit court in the notary’s county first, one of the stricter county-step states. Certified vital records come from the Maryland Department of Health.

State fee: $5 per document. Because Maryland sits next to our DC office, courier submissions to Annapolis run tighter than mail-state timing: one to three weeks depending on the state (call us and we’ll tell you where yours currently stands). Pricing: rates page.
